DEC SI
This was bought as part of a group buy where a member on DeskThority found a warehouse full of SI (Space Invader) keyboards and resold them on at cost, which worked out to be very little. So this is a new old stock keyboard, meaning it is an old keyboard but completely unused in box.
The quality of this keyboard is exceptional, everything is well built and solid feeling. The keycaps are very nice. It has deeply scooped home keys and some interesting legends on a Sweedish layout.
The switches are linear SI. They’re quite heavy, which would have put me off a when I first got into keyboards, but I like heavier switches now, especially for linear switches. Due to the switches and the quality of the case plastic this is quite a quiet keyboard, and is very pleasant for long periods of use. In fact it has not left my desk much since I got it.
Layout wise it’s a lot less tronched than it looks. It’s a DEC layout which is very similar to ISO except with some extra keys. These are great for macroing.
